Our Story

Robin and Kevin Splittstoesser, both natives to Stewartville, share a love of community and home and carry a deep sense of pride for their hometown. Raising three children in Stewartville—Kyle, Laura and Leigh—and the loving grandparents to six, Robin and Kevin believe a place is not a community without the strength and connections of those who inhabit it…those who give to each other and those who serve. A house is not a home without the character of the people within it. Building the community and creating a home require places to do so comfortably.

To them, a cabin is such a place. With her two sisters and their husbands, Robin and Kevin once owned a family cabin in north woods of Wisconsin, lovingly called “HuntHaus” after the sisters’ late father, Dale Hunt, and their mother, Alice [Halvorson]. For more than 15 years, the broader Hunt side of the family grew to be more like siblings than cousins, brought in countless guests, welcomed spouses, and eventually babies. Expanding beyond the means of their lakeside treasure, the family sold HuntHaus in 2016.

After the town chattered in numerous circles about wanting a coffee shop to call their own, Robin and Kevin both felt a pull to bring the spirit of HuntHaus back into their lives and the lives around them. What better way than to open a Cabin Coffee Company and welcome it to Stewartville. Bolstering the legacy of HuntHaus, Robin and Kevin’s daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Tony Dzubay, along with a niece and nephew-in-law, Hannah and Zach Lechner, have also partnered in to make the business a reality.

The philosophies of the Cabin Coffee Company and its mission to serve a community aligned seamlessly with the kind of place Robin and Kevin and their business partners wanted to bring to their hometown. Cabin Coffee Company's founders and owners, Angie and Brad Barber, instill the same philosophies of family, faith, and community into all their franchises.

Cabin Coffee Company is for the community—a place to meet, a place to talk, a place to laugh, a place to just be.

Everything’s Better at the Cabin!
