Dave Bourassa and his son Josh had always wanted to bring a special something to the small community of Cresco, Iowa. What they thought that would be changed throughout the years, but in the fall of 2022, they stumbled upon Cabin Coffee.

Josh was searching for something with a drive-thru option (which Cresco desperately needed) and a strong community presence beyond just the product itself. After a recommendation from a friend, he contacted Cabin Coffee's franchise team and it seemed like the perfect fit. The integration into the community, the aesthetic, and the welcoming environment were exactly what Cresco needed. In December of 2022, Josh and Dave signed with Cabin Coffee to begin the process of opening a Cabin Coffee franchise store.

Dave has had a lifetime of construction experience, being an owner and the president of a commercial construction company. Josh and Dave have been doing their own construction projects together since early 2020.

With Dave's extensive background in construction, he was able to spearhead much of the project himself. He also had the team at his construction company to help work on some of the larger portions of the project. Josh helped out where he could, spending Father's Day in 2023 with his dad working on their own Cabin Coffee— a drive-through only coffee franchise store, which is the first for the company. It opened in Cresco in the fall of 2023.
